Nationals candidate Adam Marshall has taken a landslide victory in the by-election for the NSW seat of the Northern Tablelands, which was previously held by independent Richard Torbay.

Figures on Saturday night showed Mr Marshall had more than 60 per cent of the vote.Independent Jim Maher won 14 per cent of the vote, while just under 10 per cent voted for Labor's candidate, Herman Beyersdorf.The result gives the O'Farrell Government a 70th seat in the Legislative Assembly.View coverage of the by-election on Antony Green's election website.The by-election came after Mr Torbay's spectacular fall from grace earlier this year after 14 years in politics.
